This policy covers the VUE website (vueniverse.com) and the VUE app for iPhone.
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, your name if you give one, and a password, which is stored in protected (hashed) form. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name and email address that service shares with us.
What you do in VUE: The brands you follow, the items you save, brands you ask us to add, and the product links you open.
Usage data: The pages and screens you view and the features you use, along with the type of browser or device you are using.
General location: Your country or region, worked out from your IP address by our analytics provider. We do not collect your precise location.
Without an account: You can browse VUE without signing in. Brands you follow before creating an account are kept on your device and move to your account if you create one.
We use your information to:
• Provide and maintain the Service, including your brand feed
• Improve the Service based on how it is used
• Communicate with you about your account, and send new-arrival emails or notifications you have asked for
• Count which product links are opened, so we can be paid commissions by retailers
• Ensure security and prevent abuse
We do not sell your personal information.
On the website and in the app: VUE uses PostHog to understand how the Service is used. If you are signed in, this is connected to your account.
On the website only: VUE also uses Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics, shows advertising through Google AdSense, and, if you accept the consent banner, loads the Pinterest tag to measure visits that come from Pinterest. These services may set cookies. You can manage your choice through the consent banner, and you can control Google's ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
In the iPhone app: The app shows no advertising and does not load Google Analytics, the Pinterest tag or AdSense. It does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
If you turn on notifications in the app, we store a notification token for your device so we can tell you when brands you follow release new arrivals. You can turn notifications off at any time in your iPhone settings.
Your data is stored on servers operated by our infrastructure providers. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. Your account data (followed brands, saved items, connected destinations) is stored in our database and kept in step with your browser or app for faster access.
When you open a product link, you are taken to the retailer's own website, which has its own privacy policy. VUE is not responsible for third-party privacy practices. Some links are affiliate links: VUE may earn a commission if you buy, and the partner network or retailer may set its own cookies when you click through. We do not share your name or email address with retailers or partner networks. See our affiliate disclosure.
You can: (a) access, update, or correct your account information from your profile page; (b) delete your account and all associated data at any time from your profile page, on the website or in the app; (c) manage cookie preferences via the consent banner; (d) request a copy of your data by contacting us.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data (followed brands, saved items, connected destinations, event history, and profile) is permanently removed from our systems.
VUE is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
